BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley welcomed Stacie M. Bacorn, as its full-time executive director in 2024.

Robin Suzelis, the former executive director, transitioned into the new role of information and referral director, which is designed to ensure families and individuals receive guidance and access to necessary resources.

ASMV invested in technology upgrades, including a user-friendly website. In 2025, the organization plans to launch a digital resources directory.

The Mahoning Valley Warrior event, in its fifth year in 2024, raised record-breaking funds and fostered inclusivity and connection.

ASMV hosted its largest Camp Friend weeks to date at the Jewish Community Center, including the introduction of a third week for young adults to provide them with hands-on career exploration opportunities.

Throughout 2024 and with the assistance of five employees and countless volunteers, ASMV facilitated 50 events. Those included Social Connections for tweens and young adults, family support groups and community outings, each geared to strengthen the autism community.
