YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Bob Barko Jr. has been creating pieces of Youngstown-themed fine graphic art since 1996.
His latest creation is a series of pieces titled “Images of Youngstown Past.” It marks the 230th anniversary of Youngstown and the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The inaugural piece in this series focuses on the heart of downtown Youngstown at the height of its glory, titled “Images of Youngstown Past: The Central Square Era (1926-1964).”
Barko is seeking to fill 12 remaining sponsorships at $100 each. He has already obtained 13 sponsorships.
Each sponsor will receive their choice of one of the remaining proofs, with their name listed on the certificate that will accompany each piece.

“Images of Youngstown Past” is a 16-inch-by-20-inch work printed in color with a gloss Aquas flood coat on 100-pound white gloss cover stock. The artwork features the iconic architecture of the city’s Central Square. The run is limited to 125 prints, at $20 each.
It will be released for public sale at Youngstown State University’s Summer Festival of the Arts, July 11-12.
