POLAND, Ohio – Melissa Ames, Better Business Bureau of the Mahoning Valley president, discussed the 2026 BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Trust, where five Mahoning Valley businesses and organizations were recognized for leadership, community impact and customer trust.
The awards honored Sweet Memories Vintage Tees, Gordon Brothers Water, Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture, the Canfield Fair Board of Directors and Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley for their commitment to ethics, service and community engagement.
Ames said the event celebrated organizations that build trust every day with customers, employees and the community, emphasizing that strong local businesses help strengthen the region’s economy.
Recipients highlighted values including employee development, education, community pride, civic leadership and affordable housing advocacy during the awards ceremony. Ames noted that each honoree has adapted and evolved over time while continuing to serve the Mahoning Valley, demonstrating the importance of integrity, accountability and long-term community investment.
