YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University quarterback Beau Brungard is entering his final season with one priority: make the most of one last run with the teammates who have been beside him throughout his college career.
Brungard discusses his approach to the upcoming football season and the different perspective that comes with knowing it will be his last with the Penguins. Brungard says he is taking in every practice, meal and moment with his teammates while continuing to build the relationships he believes translate to success on the field.
Brungard says he continues to focus on improving his footwork and technique, particularly late in games when fatigue can expose small mistakes. He also stresses avoiding complacency, saying last season’s individual and team success carries no weight into the new year and the Penguins must earn everything again.
Rather than setting statistical goals, Brungard says he maintains a team-first approach centered on one practice and one game at a time.
