YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nicolette Wilden, co-founder of The Beauty Legacy and owner of Wilden Beauty, and Kelan Bilal, owner of Excalibur Barber, discuss The Beauty Legacy show at Covelli Centre, an event that brings the beauty and barber industries together for education, certifications, networking and shopping.
Wilden says the event grew from plans for a small workshop in Warren into a larger expo after interest from vendors quickly outgrew the original venue. The show attracts vendors from northeastern Ohio and companies from Florida, California and the United Kingdom.
The event features industry educators, major brands, live demonstrations, a vendor floor and a barber battle. Wilden says the goal is to give hairstylists, barbers and other beauty professionals new techniques, tools and education they can take back to their salons and barbershops.
Bilal, a barber for more than 30 years, says the expo gives younger professionals an opportunity to experience the type of industry event that previously required traveling outside the area. He points to the educators, barber battle and connections with brands and vendors as important opportunities for the next generation of professionals.
