Beis Named Director of SRMC Wound Healing Center

SALEM, Ohio –  Salem Regional Medical Center recently announced that Athena Beis, M.D., is the new medical director of SRMC’s nationally-recognized Wound Healing Center.

As an experienced wound care specialist, Beis provides clinical leadership and state-of-the-art care for those with painful wounds or ulcers that do not heal over time.

“Patients with diabetes, poor circulation or other serious conditions can develop chronic or non-healing wounds that may cause pain and greatly impact their quality of life,” she says. “Our team of specialists thoroughly evaluates our patients’ needs and offers individualized care plans that aid in the wound healing process.”

Beis earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed by a medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency training at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.  She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Wound Management.
