CANFIELD, Ohio – Michael Finamore has been elected president of Bel-Park Anesthesia Associates.
Finamore, a board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, joined the practice in 2015 after completing a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. During his tenure with the organization, he has served on the executive committee and held leadership roles including chair of cardiothoracic anesthesia, strategic planning and operations director and treasurer.
“I view this role with humility as an exciting opportunity to serve others with integrity, gratitude and purpose,” Finamore said in a statement.
A Youngstown native, Finamore earned his undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace University before receiving his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, where he served as chief resident before returning to Ohio for fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic.
Finamore also serves as an educator and researcher, publishing work in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national conferences. In 2024, he was recognized by Northeast Ohio Medical University as an Outstanding Clinical Educator. He also co-authored the 2025 book “Work Stronger: Resilient Bodies, Focused Minds, Stronger Careers.”
Under Finamore’s leadership, Bel-Park Anesthesia Associates said it will continue providing anesthesia services across affiliated facilities including Mercy Health Youngstown, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, The Orthopaedic Surgery Center and Edgewood Surgical Hospital.
“Dr. Finamore is a Mahoning Valley native deeply attuned to the medical needs of our community,” said Amy Hutchinson, chair of anesthesiology at St. Elizabeth Youngstown. “He is not only an excellent physician who demonstrates his commitment to our patients daily, but he is also an outstanding partner for Bel-Park Anesthesia Associates.”
