YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Bike Share Youngstown will welcome community leaders, partners and supporters to its invite-only Cycle & Cider fundraiser Thursday at Dope Cider House & Winery.
The event will celebrate Bike Share Youngstown’s accomplishments, recognize the people and organizations helping to move its mission forward and share the organization’s vision for the future of bicycling and active transportation throughout Youngstown and Mahoning County.
“Cycle & Cider is about bringing together people who believe in Youngstown and understand that transportation, health, opportunity and community development are all connected,” said Ronnell Elkins, CEO of Bike Share Youngstown. “We want our guests to leave understanding that bicycles can be much more than recreation – they can be a tool for mobility, connection and positive change.”
During the event, guests will learn about initiatives including YoGo R.Y.D.E.S. Summer Leadership Camp, community bicycle rides, safety education, advocacy efforts and programs designed to make cycling more accessible to residents of various ages and abilities.
The event will also provide an opportunity for Bike Share Youngstown to thank its community partners and supporters while generating resources to continue expanding bicycle education, community programming and mobility initiatives.
“Just like the spokes of a bicycle, none of us carries the entire weight alone,” Elkins said. “Each spoke strengthens the wheel; each person strengthens the movement; and when we move together, we move Youngstown forward.”
Bike Share Youngstown is a nonprofit organization that aims to expand access to bicycling, promote bicycle safety and education, advocate for active transportation and create a healthier, more connected Valley through community-based mobility initiatives.
