Bird Dog Excavating, a full‑service residential and commercial excavating company serving Trumbull and Mahoning counties, reports substantial growth during its first full year in business.
Founded in 2024 in Niles, Ohio, by brothers James and Jake Coates, the company provides excavation and site‑work services throughout the Mahoning Valley.
James and Jake Coates bring decades of hands‑on experience to the business. Before launching Bird Dog, the brothers worked alongside their father, Jim Coates, at Coates Car Care, where they were involved in construction, demolition and large‑scale facility upgrades as the family business expanded across the Valley.
“Growing up in a family business taught us the importance of doing things the right way and standing behind your work,” the company says in a statement. “Bird Dog Excavating is an extension of that legacy, and we’re proud to bring that same level of quality and trust to our customers.”
