CANFIELD, Ohio – Blo Blow Dry Bar, a hair styling service specializing in blowouts, celebrated its first anniversary with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its location in Ironwood Commons on Friday.
The event marked the successful completion of the business’s first year in offering a unique service that is not available anywhere else in the Mahoning Valley.
Customers can expect to receive a professional wash, dry and styling of their hair without the need for a full-service salon appointment. Customers can also choose from a variety of pre-styled looks in the salon’s “look book,” or request a more unique style for a special event.
Co-owners Lisa Henn and Evangela Hazimihalis say Blo Blow Dry Bar is the only establishment of its kind in the Canfield area and that similar services are typically available only in larger cities like Cleveland or Pittsburgh, or through appointments with local stylists, which often come with extended wait times.
The two jokingly say they wanted the service in their area so badly that they decided to open the franchise themselves.
Customers can enroll in an $85 per month membership that includes two blowouts per month, a free treatment on the member’s birthday and additional perks. This month’s special perk is a complimentary 10-minute head massage for members.
Hazimihalis says the business caters primarily to women who prefer not to spend time washing, drying and styling their hair every day. “It’s an extra hour out of the day. If I could come here and in 45 minutes walk out and not have to touch my hair for three days, that’s great.”
