BOARDMAN, Ohio – Boardman Subaru donated 80 blankets, 30 patient care kits and handwritten messages of hope to patients impacted by blood cancer at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

The donation is part of the dealership’s continued support of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative and the automaker’s 10-year partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“We understand how difficult cancer treatment can be and hope that these donations can help ease the challenges and provide comfort for these wonderful members of our community and their families,” John Stanko, vice president of Boardman Subaru, said in a news release. “At Boardman Subaru we are committed to giving back as part of the Subaru Love Promise, and grateful for our partnership with LLS and Akron Children’s to make a meaningful impact.”

Boardman Subaru also contributed $5,000 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Urgent Need, Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Fund, which provides financial assistance to families of pediatric blood cancer patients. The funds cover nonmedical expenses such as transportation, child care, food and housing.

By the end of 2025, Subaru of America and its network of more than 640 dealerships will have supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients. As part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Subaru of America is matching donations made at LLS.org – up to a total of $100,000 – through June 30.
