CORTLAND, Ohio – Owner Heidi Goldberg and her daughter, Maddi Graham, discussed the opening of BodyGoodies’ new location in Cortland and the journey that brought the family-run business to this point.
Goldberg said the move from Liberty to Cortland felt natural after living in the community for more than a decade, describing the city as a central location with growing attractions and strong customer support.
The new building features a relaxed atmosphere designed to reflect the company’s personality, including outdoor seating, scenic views and a welcoming environment for customers and families.
Goldberg also reflected on the challenges of building the business from a small kitchen operation into a successful storefront, describing years of financial struggles, difficult decisions and moments where persistence and community support helped the company continue to grow.
Rather than pursuing large-scale wholesale expansion, she said the company chose to remain focused on direct customer relationships and help people with skin care needs on a personal level.
Graham, who grew up alongside the business, said the company has evolved from an after-school stop at her mother’s shop into a family operation she now helps lead, adding that the new location has brought a renewed sense of stability and support from the community.
