Another Vehicle Coming to Lordstown; News Conference Tomorrow
LORDSTOWN, Ohio — A news conference is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the Foxconn plant here, where details may be released regarding another electric vehicle that Foxtron plans to produce here.
According to FoxBusiness.com, the new vehicle is a “compact hatchback designed by famed Italian design house Pininfarina that will be produced under the Foxtron brand name.
“Foxtron is a collaboration between Foxconn and Yulon Motor Co. that will first launch a Chinese-made version of the vehicle,” the report states.
Foxtron was established in 2020, the same year that Foxconn Group and Yulon Group established a joint venture.
The news conference Tuesday, however, will focus on Indiev Inc.’s flagship vehicle, the INDI One. It was announced last week that prototypes of the EV will be made at Foxconn’s Lordstown plant. A media advisory released Monday afternoon states reporters will be offered “vehicle VR rides” at the plant.
In October 2021, Foxtron and Yulon introduced three newly developed electric vehicles: the Model C recreational vehicle, the Model E sedan and the Model T electric bus, states the Foxtron website.
The new model, reports Car and Driver, is a compact hatchback. The trade journal has more details on the vehicle including a link to a video posted on Twitter. It reports more details will be forthcoming Oct. 18.
To date, four EVs are in production — the Lordstown Motors Endurance — or are slated for production at the Lordstown plant.
