BROOKFIELD, Ohio – Brewed Awakening Coffee House will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday.
The coffee shop officially opened its doors at 7120 Brookwood Drive on Sept. 5.
Owner Leah Lopeno saw a need for additional coffee and gathering options in the Brookfield area and felt the location was an ideal fit, particularly because of its proximity to the Brookfield Local School District and Trumbull County Court, a news release states.
Brewed Awakening has hired several local high school students from Brookfield and surrounding school districts, providing opportunities for young people to gain work experience. The coffee shop is also working with the Brookfield Local School District through its employment program.
Brewed Awakening’s menu features coffee and signature lattes, dirty sodas, refreshers and a variety of food options, including waffles, açaí bowls, mini pancakes and grab-and-go selections.
The coffee shop is committed to supporting other local small businesses, the release states. Customers can find cookies from Brookfield-based Sweet Tooth to Go, as well as locally made sourdough products, including fresh loaves and smaller treats.
Lopeno plans to continue finding ways for Brewed Awakening to give back and become even more involved in the community. The business will support Brookfield Local School District’s Land That I Love 5K, which raises money for student field trips, with its own cheer squad supporting participants. The coffee shop also plans to host themed events, including an upcoming wizard-themed night featuring a specialty menu.
“My hope is that we continue growing alongside the Brookfield community, building relationships, supporting local students and businesses and creating a place where everyone feels welcome,” Lopeno said. “We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has supported us, visited us, shared our business with others and helped make Brewed Awakening feel like part of the community so quickly.”
