Broadway Recovery to Host 5K Walk/Run Fundraising Event

COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The first Race for the STARS fundraising event will be held by Broadway Recovery Services on July 15.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Firestone Farms.

Participants are invited to walk or run 3.1 miles through a professionally chip-timed course provided by Second Sole.

The event will help benefit the nonprofit’s new Broadway STARS Clubhouse by raising funds in support of its members who are struggling with mental illness.

Broadway STARS is structured around “work-ordered” days where members and employed staff work together in the community.

The mission of Broadway STARS is to offer support through providing friendships, employment, medical and psychiatric services, education and housing to those struggling with mental illness.

First-, second- and third-place finishers in the men’s and women’s races will receive gift certificate prizes from local businesses.

The entry fee is $30 until 11:59 p.m. July 14, and $35 if purchased the day of the race. A limited-edition T-shirt and other race products are included. 

Those registered before July 5 will be entered to win their choice of a $50 gift card from one of the event sponsors.
