YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The new owners and publishers of the Buckeye Review will discuss their goals for the monthly publication at a Youngstown Press Club luncheon March 11.

The event will begin at noon in the Covelli Centre’s community room, 229 E. Front St.

Youngstown natives Dontaira Terrell, editor-in-chief of the Buckeye Review, and her sister, Zakkiyyah Terrell White, chief operating officer, will share their personal journeys back to the city, their goals for the 88-year-old publication and its deep ties to the community.

The Buckeye Review highlights the diversity and rich stories of marginalized Mahoning Valley communities and harnesses the power of storytelling to amplify voices often unheard.

Terrell and White also will give their insights on the evolving landscape of journalism and what the future holds for their publication in the changing times.

The cost of the event is $30 for Youngstown Press Club members and $35 for nonmembers. Register HERE by March 5.

Terrell is a video contributor across various platforms. Her work has included interviews with Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, Demi Moore and Melissa McCarthy, and she has written feature stories for USA Today, BET, MTV, VH1 and the Recording Academy.

White has more than 20 years of operations management experience across the legal, real estate and financial services industries. She has taught college-level law and business courses and has been an executive council member on the Florida Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Standing Committee and a member of the American Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
