Cafaro Foundation Scholarships Set New Record
NILES, Ohio — The amount of money awarded to local students by the Cafaro Foundation has reached a new level in 2021. This year, the foundation trustees approved a total of $90,000 in scholarships to help the recipients advance their college or high school educations. The 30 winners are from many communities in the Ohio and Pennsylvania region.
They were selected primarily for their academic merit, while the trustees also considered the students’ financial need and the recommendations of teachers and guidance counselors.
The William M. and Alyce Cafaro Scholarship was awarded to Matthew Fabian of Girard.

The Cafaro Foundation is a charitable entity established by the Cafaro family in memory of William M. Cafaro, the founder of the real estate development and management company that bears his name. For over a half century, Cafaro, along with his wife Alyce and brother John A. Cafaro, supported churches, schools, hospitals and other charitable causes. Since its inception in 1996, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in grants to worthy organizations and individuals.
