STRUTHERS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Development awarded Castlo Community Improvement Corp. a $350,000 Roadwork Development Grant for roadway improvements at its industrial park.

The improvements will consist of the reconstruction and widening of approximately 4,000 linear feet of roadway within Castlo Industrial Park,  beginning at Bob Cene Way and continuing to the southeast and north, according to an ODOD news release. The $537,440 road project will accommodate the development of the Lindy Paving facility and an associated 500 percent increase in heavy truck traffic.

“It hasn’t been resurfaced in 28 years,” Randy Partika, a Castlo CIC board member, said Tuesday. The project also will entail some guardrail work and drainage work.

The project will create 60 jobs, according to the ODOD news release.
