YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Gateways to Better Living received a $1,084 donation from Cockeye Creamery through its Cockeye Cares Pint Program.
The contribution represents proceeds from sales of Cockeye’s exclusive Banana Cream Pie ice cream flavor from April through June.
The Cockeye Cares Pint Program partners with local nonprofit organizations by creating a signature ice cream flavor and donating a portion of pint sales to the organization.
“We are incredibly grateful to Cockeye Creamery for selecting Gateways to Better Living as a Cockeye Cares partner,” Kristie Murphy, community engagement director at Gateways to Better Living, said in a news release. “This partnership not only raised valuable funds for our organization but also increased awareness of our mission throughout the community. We are especially thankful to everyone who purchased a pint and helped make this campaign such a success.”
The donation will help Gateways to Better Living continue to provide support and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties, the release states. The organization empowers individuals to live meaningful, independent and fulfilling lives through residential services, day programs, employment support and community inclusion opportunities.
“We believe that strong communities are built through partnerships,” Murphy said. “Cockeye Creamery found a creative way to give back while bringing people together over something everyone loves, ice cream. We couldn’t be more appreciative of their generosity and the support of our community.”
