AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – 717 Credit Union and The Business Journal will host the first event in their new Coffee and Connections networking series from 8 to 9 a.m. Feb. 19 at the credit union’s Austintown branch, 6460 Mahoning Ave.

The Austintown event marks the launch of the series after the originally scheduled January kickoff was canceled because of a snowstorm. The monthly program is designed to bring together local business owners, professionals and community leaders across northeastern Ohio.

Speakers at the Austintown event will include Larry Wilson of Biker Brewhouse, Christopher McFall of Shotz Bar & Grill and Dwayne Townsend Sr. of Townsend’s Tax Network. The event is free to attend, but reservations are required. The deadline to RSVP is Feb. 17.

Additional Coffee and Connections events are scheduled for March 12 at the 717 Credit Union branch at 2301 state Route 59 in Kent and March 19 at the Canton branch, 4450 Belden Village St., Suite 104, in Belden Village.

The Coffee and Connections series is a partnership between 717 Credit Union and The Business Journal and will be held monthly at various 717 Credit Union branches throughout the credit union’s footprint, including Akron, Canton, Streetsboro and multiple locations in the Mahoning Valley.

“We hope to see businesses take this opportunity to grow through networking and sharing their stories with The Business Journal,” said John Demmler, president and CEO of 717 Credit Union. “By bringing people together each month, we hope to foster strong relationships and create a space where local business can thrive.”

As part of the partnership, attendees will receive digital-only access to The Business Journal for seven months and 17 days, reflecting the credit union’s name and its focus on business engagement.

Additional Coffee and Connections events and locations will be announced throughout the year.
