Columbiana Chamber Sets ‘Airing of the Quilts’ May 1
COLUMBIANA, Ohio — The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce is asking residents and merchants to participate in its First Friday event May 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. by hanging quilts outside their buildings on South Main Street.
The event, “Airing of the Quilts,” honors a long-ago tradition, when quilts were aired out to mark the arrival of spring. The chamber organized it last year in an effort to bring families, residents and visitors to Columbiana.
“Our community has so much to offer — a safe, family friendly environment full of shops and restaurants, great entertainment and this event is meant to showcase all that we have to offer here,” says April Brinker, executive director of the Columbiana chamber. “The committee is working hard to organize activities for the evening.”
Artisans, organizations, and farmer’s market vendors are invited to contact the chamber office if interested in participating. Call 330 482 3822.
