COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The Columbiana Project Playground has received a $15,000 grant from the Columbiana Community Foundation.
The funds will be used to create the Donor Welcome Area at the new playground at Firestone Park. The playground is designed to offer an inclusive experience where everyone can play, learn and grow, no matter their ability. The Donor Welcome Area will serve as a tribute to the contributors who are making the playground a reality.
The grant was provided through the foundation’s Community Grant program, which assists and supports those in the Columbiana and Crestview Local School districts, as well as nonprofits that offer services in the area.
“It’s always great to be able to support a project like the playground,” said Shane Patrone, Columbiana Community Foundation president.
The foundation previously provided the first grant to the project, which helped cover early costs, including fundraising efforts, professional design renderings and proposal fees.
“The Community Foundation believed in our vision from the start,” said Michaela Good, president of Columbiana Project Playground. “We are incredibly grateful for their partnership as we continue bringing this vital project to life.”
