COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Best Western Plus Dutch Haus Inn and Suites, 150 E. State Route 14, is celebrating 25 years of operation alongside the announcement of its transition to new ownership, PKVR Hospitality.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The hotel was built 25 years ago by Ralph and Doris Witmer, Nelson and Kris Witmer, Grace and Alan Styer, Raymond and Ruth Ann Horst, David and Deb Horst and Dennis Sherry Horst. The independent property joined Best Western International in 2018 and has since won numerous awards as one of the organization’s top-performing hotels. The 52-room property, which includes 13 suites, an indoor pool, a banquet room and meeting spaces, features custom, handmade details crafted by original co-owner Alan Styer.
After 25 years, the founding families are passing the torch to PKVR Hospitality, a family partnership consisting of Dipti Shah, Viraj Shah, Umesh Shah and Nilang Maniar. The new owners bring extensive hospitality experience from operating multiple hotels across Virginia and North Carolina.
The transition will ensure continuity for guests, events and staff, a news release states. Dipti Shah will serve as the on-site owner, and the hotel will maintain its signature welcoming atmosphere, dedicated employee team and historic touches.
“I put my heart and soul into running the inn for 25 years, and it was a difficult decision to pass the torch to another family of owners,” Grace Styer said. “However, it is the right decision as I have relocated to Virginia to focus on my family’s health needs following Alan’s Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2011 and to be near our children and grandchildren. I deeply appreciate Dipti and her family, and I look forward to this next season for our beloved inn.”
