Columbiana, Salem Practices to Join Akron Children’s Pediatrics
AKRON, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center’s pediatric primary care offices in Columbiana and Salem are joining the Akron Children’s Pediatrics network.
Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Columbiana will open Aug. 5 and will be located in a new office at 116 Carriage Drive in the Firestone Farms TownCenter. Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Salem will open Aug. 6 and will remain at its current location, 1076 E. State St.
“Columbiana and Salem will join our East Liverpool and Lisbon offices in serving the Columbiana County area, increasing our network to 44 primary care locations,” said Brian Dinger, vice president of the Akron Children’s primary care network. “We’re meeting families where they are so they can receive exceptional pediatric primary care that’s close to home.”
Patients and families at the Columbiana and Salem offices will receive:
- All the tools of Akron Children’s MyChart, including online appointment scheduling and telehealth visits.
- E-visits and virtual visits with their providers.
- Seven-days-a-week Appointment Center availability.
- Access to Akron Children’s experts if a patient needs to see a specialist.
- The after-hours nurse line to help parents make decisions about their children’s health.
The Salem and Columbiana locations will be staffed by the same doctors who cared for patients at Salem Regional Medical Center’s pediatric offices: Richelle Keleman, Danielle Macabobby and Marcia Marhefka. Akron Children’s certified nurse practitioner Christina Hurst will also join the Columbiana and Salem practices.
“For many years, Salem Regional Medical Center has provided a safety net of care to area children through our pediatric outreach offices in Salem and Columbiana,” said Dr. Anita Hackstedde, Salem Regional Medical Center president and CEO. “Our decision to transition these practices to the Akron Children’s Pediatrics network will help ensure that families continue to receive the same high-quality medical care they have come to trust from our providers.”
