Community Foundation of Western PA Matching Donations Made Next Week
SHARON, Pa. – To encourage giving during the coronavirus pandemic, the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio will be matching donations made to 40 participating charities for a week, beginning July 25.
Six member funds – the Meszaros Family Foundation, FNB Community Foundation, Zekelman Fund, Winner Foundation, O’Brien Children Memorial Fund and Strimbu Memorial Fund – have committed $130,000 to the foundation’s PA OH Gives program, said Kyle English, executive director of the Community Foundation, in a statement.
“We are hoping people remember some of the ways they may have saved money while staying close to home over the past few months, and consider donating a portion of those funds to support these terrific charities” he continued. “No amount is too small. These organizations have been there for us, now let’s be there for them.”
A full list of charities – which includes the American Heart Association, Buhl Park, Community Library of the Shenango Valley and New Castle Playhouse – is available at PAOHGives.com.
Donations can be made through the website or mailed to the Community Foundation at 7 W. State St. Suite 301, Sharon, Pa. 16146. participating organizations will receive 100% of donations and matched dollars.
