YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley recently announced the promotion of Kathleen “Kat” McGlothren to donor services and scholarships coordinator and the addition of Jessica Francis as operations and finance coordinator.

McGlothren’s promotion became effective mid-March. In her expanded role, she oversees donor services and scholarship administration, building on the operational, grantmaking and scholarship experience she has developed since joining the foundation.

Francis joined the foundation June 1, bringing more than 15 years of experience supporting nonprofit and educational organizations in administrative, operations and coordination roles. Throughout her career, she has served organizations including the University of Southern Mississippi Honors College, Mahoning Valley Historical Society, the Tiffin Community YMCA, the University of New Haven and Sam Houston State University.

As operations and finance coordinator, Francis coordinates operational and financial workflows that support the foundation’s daily activities, including contribution processing, payment processing, financial recordkeeping, donor acknowledgements and administrative coordination. She works closely with staff members across the organization to maintain accurate records, support strong internal controls and ensure a responsive and positive experience for those who interact with the foundation.

“These staffing changes are the result of a thoughtful evaluation of how we can best support the donors, fundholders, scholarship recipients and nonprofit organizations who place their trust in us,” said Casey Krell, president of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley. “Kat’s promotion recognizes her dedication, growth and deep understanding of our work, while Jessica brings valuable experience and expertise that will strengthen our operational capacity. Together, these changes strengthen our team and our ability to serve the Mahoning Valley for years to come.”
