Community Foundation Seeks Candidates for New Position
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is seeking candidates for the new position of philanthropic services director.
The new position will be responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising and stewardship program that increases charitable resources, engages with diverse individuals in the Valley and promotes local philanthropy. Candidates should have experience in building meaningful relationships across varied audiences, providing excellent customer service and setting and achieving meaningful goals, a news release states.
“With our current president’s upcoming retirement and my transition into that role, we saw this as an opportunity to assess capacity and align roles with staff interests and strengths, as well as the needs of the organization,” said Casey Krell, incoming president of the Community Foundation. “That assessment resulted in the creation of this new position that is really focused on growing and supporting incoming and existing funds here at the foundation.”
The Community Foundation recently completed a strategic plan, and the new position will play a key role in working with others to implement the plan and, specifically, drive progress toward aligning the organization’s funding strategy with its needed growth and intended impact.
Candidates should also exhibit a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, both personally and professionally, the release states.
“This isn’t your typical nonprofit development role, but instead, this position offers the opportunity to partner with a wide range of individuals, groups, companies and nonprofit agencies to help them carry out their unique philanthropic goals,” Krell said. “While a bachelor’s degree is preferred, it isn’t required, and we are really looking for someone who can build genuine relationships to move this work forward. We encourage anyone who thinks they may be interested to apply.”
The full job posting and a detailed job description can be found HERE.
To apply, candidates should email their resume and three professional references to Krell at [email protected]. The Community Foundation will review applications and begin interviews immediately, and will continue until the position is filled.
