YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will host a grant information session to educate local nonprofits on its funding opportunities and answer questions about applying to the foundation.
The event will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave.
Community Foundation staff members will discuss grant opportunities and the application process, as well as information on what makes a strong application, recent changes to the CFMV grant portal and the use of artificial intelligence in writing grant proposals.
“A critical part of the Community Foundation’s mission is to help nonprofits serving the Valley grow as organizations by providing educational opportunities to improve their skills and increase their impact in the community,” said Sarah Lowry, senior director of community impact at the CFMV. “This information session will give first-time applicants and longtime grantees a better understanding of what the Community Foundation looks for in applications and general knowledge that they can put to use in most grant proposals.”
All who register will receive the presentation materials following the event. Register HERE.
The session is being held in advance of the Community Foundation’s final deadline of the year, Oct. 15.
