AKRON, Ohio – Two Mahoning Valley attorneys were recently honored as Pro Bono Volunteers of the Year by Community Legal Aid.

Attorney Diane Chermely received the award Sept. 14 at the Mahoning County Bar Association’s annual Opening of Courts luncheon. Chermely has volunteered her services for more than 30 years, most recently helping clients with simple divorces. Her practice is in Boardman.
Attorney JP Morgan received the award Sept. 17 at the Trumbull County Bar Association’s awards dinner. He has volunteered for more than a decade, also assisting clients with divorce cases. He practices in Warren.
“Attorneys Chermely and Morgan are well deserving of these honors,” said Elsa Reale-Gottfried, managing attorney of the Pro Bono Project. “They both see the value of giving back to their community, and we are so grateful on behalf of the many clients they’ve helped.”
Reale-Gottfried said the attorneys are among nearly 200 current volunteers for Community Legal Aid.
