YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As part of the America 250 celebration, the Mahoning County Courthouse will open its doors to visitors for guided tours that will offer a unique look at the building’s 115-year history and architectural features.
Built in 1910, the courthouse stands as an example of Beaux-Arts architecture and reflects the region’s industrial strength and civic pride at the turn of the 20th century.
The tours, which will be guided by Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr., will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 15-18.
“I’m honored to welcome the community into this remarkable courthouse as part of the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary,” Rusu said. “As we reflect on this milestone, it’s important to highlight this historical building for the central role it has played in our community, a place built to uphold the democratic principles that our nation stands on.”
Free parking will be available at the Covelli Centre, with a complimentary shuttle service transporting visitors to and from the courthouse throughout tour hours.
