Covelli Enterprises Signs Franchise Deal with Caribou Coffee
WARREN, Ohio – A new partnership will bring Caribou Coffee locations to the Mahoning Valley.
The national premium coffeehouse has signed its largest domestic franchise development deal with Covelli Enterprises, the companies announced Tuesday.
Sam Covelli, CEO of Covelli Enterprises, and his three children, Candace, Albert and Danielle, plan to open more than 100 Caribou Coffee locations across northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and Florida.
“My family and I are proud to be a part of Caribou Coffee, and we look forward to growing the brand right here in Mahoning Valley where our company started, and across other markets in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida,” Covelli said.
The first location is expected to open later this year on the Ohio Turnpike in the Glacier Hills Plaza. A freestanding location with a drive-thru is planned to open in early 2024 in Canfield, near the Covelli-owned Panera Bread. Covelli Enterprises is the largest franchisee of Panera Bread, with more than 300 locations in eight states.
Covelli is also looking at potential Caribou locations in Boardman, Austintown and Warren.
Caribou Coffee expanded its franchise program in October 2021, marking the first time candidates had an opportunity to own and operate traditional franchise locations in the United States. Caribou Coffee recently announced several domestic franchise development agreements to open more than 300 franchise locations domestically.

Caribou Coffee was founded in 1992. It has 330 company-owned, 141 nontraditional and 294 traditional franchise locations in 11 countries.
