As CTW Development Corp. marks 25 years at Westford in Canfield Township, the company is moving forward with new construction projects that add to its mixed-use footprint in northeastern Ohio.

Founded in 1987 by Chuck Whitman, CTW has grown to include more than 1.5 million square feet of Class A office and retail space and has developed more than 600 residential home sites throughout the Mahoning Valley and across Ohio.

Westford was developed on more than 400 acres and was designed from the outset as a mixed-use destination. The development was intended to function as a “lifestyle community – a fully integrated campus where people can Live, Work, Shop, and Play in one destination,” according to Rich Sedoris, director of advertising and marketing for CTW.

Today, Westford includes Kennsington Golf Club & Grille, three Marriott-branded hotels, the Waypoint 4180 banquet and event center, an Aldi grocery store, along with office and retail space. Development activity at the site remains ongoing. Construction is underway on a new office building for investment firm Stifel, and construction is scheduled to begin later in 2026 on an independent and assisted living community.

CTW also manages its hospitality assets at Westford through The Kennsington Hospitality Group. The company oversees the award-winning Courtyard Marriott-Canfield, TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites, which serve both business and leisure travelers visiting the region.

Waypoint 4180 continues to host weddings, banquets, corporate meetings and community gatherings. The Kennsington Golf Simulator Lounge, located beneath the venue, offers a year-round recreational option, particularly during the winter months.

Outside the Mahoning Valley, CTW has continued redevelopment efforts at Clocktower Plaza in Lima, Ohio. The retail center, once distressed, has seen improvements following investment in infrastructure and a renewed focus on tenant satisfaction. Sedoris notes that the plaza is now thriving, following the investment into the Plaza’s infrastructure and a renewed focus on tenant satisfaction.

Looking ahead, CTW plans to recognize Westford’s 25th anniversary in 2026 while continuing development efforts both locally and elsewhere in the state.
