WARREN, Ohio – The D5 Group’s mini documentary produced for the city of Warren’s Police and Community Trust Initiative received a Gold Addy Award at the 2026 AAF-Akron American Advertising Awards in Akron.
The film, produced in partnership with the mayor’s office, was recognized in the Public Service Film, Video, and Sound Campaign category.
The film was developed as part of a broader public engagement effort designed to serve as a foundation for ongoing engagement and stronger trust between law enforcement and the community.
The D5 Group, a marketing management firm based in Warren, provided strategy and communications support for the project. Components include:
- A community climate survey with more than 800 total responses.
- An audio series featuring one-on-one interviews with residents and Warren police officers.
- A campaign website with interactive content and public resources.
- Social media engagement to extend reach and participation.
- The film with city, school and community voices.
DeShawn Scott, CEO of the D5 Group, served as executive producer for the film and led the campaign strategy, guiding the project from concept through final delivery. Appleridge Productions served as a production partner and handled filming and post-production duties.
“This film connects Warren’s past, what residents and officers are saying today and the direction ahead,” Scott said. “It is a public record of progress and a call to keep engaging.”
The Gold Addy advances the film to the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
