YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Applications for the Leadership Mahoning Valley Class of 2026 are due by Friday, July 11. The program, which begins in September, is open to individuals who live or work in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
Leadership Mahoning Valley is an immersive program that includes speakers, site visits, tours, and hands-on activities. Each session is organized around a specific topic, including government, education, economic development, health and human services, and diversity. Participants will also complete a DiSC assessment to enhance self-awareness and improve leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
The program is designed for recognized and emerging leaders across sectors such as business, education, government, health care, and nonprofit organizations. Candidates are evaluated based on their leadership potential, history of civic involvement, and ability to contribute to the program’s collaborative learning environment. Diversity is a key consideration in the selection process.
Since its founding in 1984, Leadership Mahoning Valley has graduated more than 1,300 participants. The organization operates as an independent nonprofit and is the result of the 1994 merger between the former Leadership Youngstown and Leadership Warren programs.
