Deadline Nears to Purchase Tickets for Smarts Family Dinner

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Students Motivated by the Arts will host its annual Smarts Family Dinner on Nov. 21 to celebrate the role arts play in the Mahoning Valley and in the lives of local students.

With a theme of Seeds for the Future, the event will take place at 6:15 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave.

The event will include a spaghetti dinner, raffles, a wine pull and a 50/50 drawing.

Attendees will experience art from five disciplines – visual art, music, dance, theater and creative writing. Students from The Band will play their own rock songs, and dancers from Smarts’ 90s Dance Theme class will demonstrate routines. The Smarts String Ensemble, featuring cellos for the first time, will perform, as will students who are learning the new steel drums in the Steel Band. Families from Early Smarts Sensory Art and Smarts Paint the Town will demonstrate, and the Liberty Show Choir will perform.

Tickets, available until Nov. 10, are $30 for adults and $15 for students. Children under age 5 can attend for free.
