YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Employees from Dearing Compressor were recently part of a build that will create countless memories for kids in the community.

As part of Habitat for Humanity’s Project Playhouse, Dearing’s field service and warehouse teams designed, cut, assembled and painted five custom playhouses. Each one was personalized and reflected the children’s interests.

It all took place at Penguin City Brewing Co. in downtown Youngstown. Volunteers put their hearts, skill and imagination into a worthy cause.

“This means a lot to me,” said Matt Patrick, inside sales and warehouse coordinator for Dearing Compressor, who has volunteered for other community efforts within the last 20 years. “When I was a kid, our parents had to beg us to come inside. Now, they have to beg them to go out. These playhouses can help change that.”

CEO Becky Wall emphasized that giving back is part of the company’s DNA, so it was natural for the team to jump on the opportunity.

“We’ve called the Mahoning Valley home for more than 80 years,” she said. “Supporting families and serving the community, that’s who we are.”
