WARREN, Ohio – Denise DeBartolo York and her family are listed No. 158 on Forbes’ 2026 list of the richest Americans. They ranked No. 163 on last year’s list.
Forbes released the list Wednesday. It lists the family’s net worth at $10 billion, ranking them No. 366 on Forbes’ 400 list of the world’s richest people.
“Denise York’s family owns more than 90% of the San Francisco 49ers, the NFL’s sixth-most valuable team and the 2023 Super Bowl runner-up,” Forbes reported.
It said the team is worth $8 billion. Her late father, Edward DeBartolo Sr., bought the team in 1977 for $13 million, according to the website.

Forbes reported that DeBartolo York’s husband, John York, who is a pathologist, founded DeYor Laboratories in Youngstown and sold it to Corning.
The family took over Leeds United, an English soccer club, finalizing the deal in 2023.

Larry Page, co-founder and board member of Google parent company Alphabet; Michael Dell, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies; and Sergey Brin, also a co-founder and board member at Alphabet, round out the top five.
