YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Judge Theresa Dellick of the Mahoning County Juvenile Court recently announced the appointment of Magistrate Gina DeGenova as court administrator.
DeGenova will replace Joseph Nohra, who recently left the position after years of service to the court and the Mahoning County community.
In addition to assuming the responsibilities of court administrator, DeGenova will continue to serve in her role as magistrate for the court. In this dual capacity, she will maintain her judicial duties while also overseeing the court’s administrative operations, including case management, fiscal oversight, personnel administration and implementation of policies that support efficient and effective court services. She will also handle all media inquiries.
“Magistrate Gina DeGenova’s years of service in the prosecutor’s office, combined with her experience as magistrate, gives her a comprehensive understanding of the juvenile justice system,” Dellick said. “Her leadership, professionalism and commitment to public service make her exceptionally qualified for this role.”
Before joining the court, DeGenova worked in various roles for the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office for nearly 20 years, including serving the community as its prosecutor.
“I am honored to have had the opportunity to continue to serve the citizens of Mahoning County. In my new position, I am committed to the mission of the juvenile court to provide fair and efficient processes, focused on outcomes that strengthen families and protect our community,” DeGenova said. “I look forward to working alongside Judge Dellick, JJC staff and our community partners. Together, we will continue to focus on positive outcomes for our youth and families while remaining dedicated to promoting accountability, rehabilitation and public safety through innovative programs and collaborative community partnerships.”
