DeSalvo Construction expects another year filled with projects in 2026.
The company was founded in the home of Joy and Joseph A. DeSalvo in December of 1984 and since its incorporation has enjoyed continuous growth. In 1990, the company moved to Hubbard, Ohio.
In 2000, a warehouse building was added to accommodate the growing construction operations.
In 2008, DeSalvo expanded again with an office addition and renovation and it completed headquarters in July 2025.
The company prides itself on a corporate culture rooted in continuous improvement. The founders fostered a business environment that motivates, rewards and retains an exceptional team dedicated to the success of projects, clients and the community at large, according to President Joseph K. DeSalvo.
“Delivering safe and timely projects is a core belief that has propelled the company forward for over four decades,” he adds.
Giving Back
DeSalvo Construction is committed to giving back, the company president explains.
It supports partnerships with organizations, including Akron Children’s Hospital, Mahoning Valley, Shepherd of The Valley Foundation and the arts community (Stambaugh Auditorium, DeYor Performing Arts Center, Youngstown Playhouse, Youngstown Symphony and Opera Western Reserve).
In Spring 2025, the company donated two baseball dugouts to Liberty High School. In November, the fifth annual Giving Tuesday campaign with the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation exceeded the $50,000 matching goal – raising $228,331.69. And the money raised stays in the community.
“The ripple effect will be felt across our entire community for months and years to come of improving and supporting people of all ages in the five county region,” DeSalvo says.
