CHAMPION, Ohio – DeSalvo Construction has been named the construction manager for the Trumbull Career & Technical Center’s $6.4 million expansion project.
The project will add 15,000 square feet of space to enhance industrial training, career exploration and student mental health services at TCTC.
“We are honored to partner with TCTC on a project that so clearly aligns with our core values, supporting education, workforce development and community wellness,” said Joe DeSalvo, president of DeSalvo Construction. “This expansion is not just about bricks and mortar – it’s about building pathways for students to thrive in high-demand industries and ensuring they have the support they need along the way.”
A ceremonial groundbreaking was held last week to celebrate the beginning of the project, which is expected to be completed by fall 2026. The expansion is funded by a $5.2 million Appalachian Community Innovation Centers grant and a $2.5 million Career Technical Education Equipment grant.
The new facility will house advanced training areas for TCTC’s recently introduced Industrial Technology program, along with interactive labs that allow elementary and middle school students to explore a variety of career paths.
The expansion also deepens the school’s partnership with Cadence Care Network, making behavioral and mental health services more accessible to both students and the broader community.
