DGPerry experienced another year of growth in 2025 – with significant investments in its physical space, its people and infrastructure.

With offices in Canfield, Ohio, the firm partnered with client United Contractors Inc. of Brookfield to reimagine the office, creating a more modern, collaborative environment reflective of the firm’s culture and long-term vision, according to Bruce Flyak, partner in charge in Canfield.

Business growth kept pace with internal investment, particularly within DGPerry Canfield’s benefit plan audit practice, Flyak says. The office serves a range of multiemployer plans, providing specialized audit, accounting and compliance services in a regulated environment.

Arianna Peebles, MBA; Matthew Laughlin; and Melissa Davanzo, MBA, were promoted to senior accountants. Gianna Hlebovy, a Youngstown State University graduate, was promoted to senior talent acquisition specialist. The firm welcomed back former interns and YSU graduates Bella Milano and Katherine Wamsley, associate accountants, as well as Samantha Pluchinsky, supervisor.

DGPerry added five college interns: Aidan Markey, Walsh University; Anna Wise, Justin Franko, and Parker Bush, YSU; and Colin Moore, Kent State University.

Recognitions included the gold award for Best Accounting Firm and Tax Services in a local newspaper’s Readers’ Choice Awards and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Team members supported community initiatives – the YMCA Community Cup, the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, Project MKC, local schools, area athletics and progressive nonprofits.

The firm invested in its employees starting a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account program and transitioning the 401(k) plan to Empower.

Operationally, DGPerry rolled out the intranet portal, which centralized communication and resources. A comprehensive Quality Management System became a hub for policies, reports, templates and compliance tools. DGPerry expanded its national footprint with new partners in its Naples, Fla., office: Liz Buemi, CPA, and Youngstown native Joseph Smith, CPA, MT.
