POLAND, Ohio – I cannot say enough about this practice to give it justice. We are a practice that is not connected to any of the hospital systems or collaborative groups nor do we want to be.
Dr. Melinda Smith and Dr. Jonathan Eucker treat their employees like family. They believe in a good work/life balance. That is why no one works over 30 hours a week unless they choose to do so. Our practice is anchored to the community, and positive word-of-mouth is what drives and grows our practice.
Smith and Eucker are always there for their employees to share births, deaths, graduations and weddings because caring is what matters most to them when it comes to both their employees and patients.
There are many ways to assess a workplace . But a great place to work is one that inspires the passion of workers and allows them to use their talent and that is exactly what Dr. Smith and Eucker do.
They believe that their employees are motivated more by what they do than who they work for or with. They work for more than the typical reasons. They want to grow, nurture and apply their skills and knowledge in ways that enable them to consistently produce excellence.
Smith and Eucker also believe in sharing the wealth. At the end of each year, after meeting with their accountant, they are very generous with end-of-year bonuses and are implementing a summer bonus as well in 2022. They are generous with vacation time and other benefits and believe in taking care of their employees as they would a family member.
All of this has led to longevity of staff and the only reason we really ever lose someone is due to retirement.
It has been a long time since I have encountered employers like Smith and Eucker and hope to remain here until retirement.
