YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Thrive Mahoning Valley will launch the Downtown Youngstown Farmers Market on Feb. 12 at the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County’s main branch, 305 Wick Ave.

The market will run from 4-7:30 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month. It will offer residents access to fresh, local produce and locally made

products. The market will be hosted indoors during the winter months and outside in the parking lot during warmer months.

This new market aims to create a vibrant, community-centered environment where neighbors can gather, connect and support the region’s growers and makers, a news release states.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Healthy Community Partnership and the PLMCY Main Library to bring this expanded offering to downtown,” said Vicki Vicars, lead organizer of the farmers market. “Our community deserves year-round opportunities to purchase fresh foods, and this indoor market will help bridge the gap during the colder months while supporting the farmers and small businesses who make our region unique. Having the YSU campus directly across the street offers us a wonderful opportunity to provide for students as well.”

She added that the organizations look forward to catering to international students.

What shoppers can expect:

  • Fresh, locally grown produce.
  • Products from local farmers, growers and artisans.
  • A gathering place for families and neighbors.
  • Food demos and nutrition information.
  • Children’s activities from 4-6 p.m.

The market is free and open to the public. Those interested in vending, volunteering or sponsoring the market can reach out to Vicars or click on the following links:
