YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Eastgate Regional Council of Governments will host a Bike Month Commuter Challenge through the Gohio Commute Platform from May 1-31.

Throughout the month, residents of Mahoning and Trumbull counties can log their sustainable commutes for the opportunity to win gift cards and gain access to commute perks. A sustainable commute is any commute where someone is not driving alone, such as carpooling, biking, walking, scootering, riding public transportation or using a bikeshare.

Individuals can participate by creating an account on the Gohio Commute App or website and logging sustainable commutes to and from work or college. All participants logging a bike trip will be eligible to receive a bike repair kit. All participants logging sustainable commutes throughout May will be eligible to win a gift card in the amounts of $200, $100, $50 and $25.

Weekly raffles will be held for $25 gift cards. Gift card fulfillment is through Tango, and winners can select the location for where they want the gift card.

Any participant logging a bike commute May 15 for National Bike to Work Day will be eligible to receive a Gohio commute bike bag. All sustainable commutes count for the challenge, but additional items will be given out to participants that log bike commutes for the month.
