Entrepreneur to Address Lawrence Young Professionals

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Young Professionals of Lawrence County will host its second “Spark Your Knowledge: Executive Series” session at 5:30 p.m. this evening at The Confluence. The event will feature Merit Wish Phillips of Wish Designs USA, who will discuss her niche company and tools needed to run a successful business. Afterward she will entertain a question and answer segment for attendees.

Wish Designs USA pioneered the Amish Country movement, designing a multitude of bent wood-style furnishings including dining, bedroom and occasional pieces, according to the news release announcing the event. The New Castle company designs and manufactures handcrafted twig chandeliers and rustic hickory branch lighting, known as “Brancheliers.”

Phillips has another niche company, Tigerrags, which supplies textured ultra- suede and leather area rugs and pillows.

“We are really excited about the opportunity to hear from a fellow business executive who has thrived, not only in the marketplace, but in a niche market,” Ginny Jacob, YPLC treasurer, said. “It’s very important for YPLC to learn from other peoples’ experiences. Merit Wish Phillips is a perfect candidate; we are thrilled to have her.”
