BOARDMAN, Ohio – After outgrowing its former building, Fabian Woodworking in 2024 moved to a new production site on Western Reserve Road in Boardman.
It took six weeks to dismantle the equipment, transport it to the new location and rebuild it, all while fine-tuning operations. The company can now produce more custom cabinets, drawer boxes and other woodworking projects with greater efficiency, says Dan Fabian, owner and founder.
The bigger space allowed the company to invest in two new pieces of equipment: a straight-line saw, which improves the precision of wood edges and streamlines glue-up; and a dovetail machine, which has boosted dovetail edge production from 10 per hour to 50 per hour.
As a result, the company has improved turnaround times and increased overall output. The larger space also enables bulk purchasing of raw materials at more affordable costs.
One significant project that the new space enabled was making custom wine racks and other items for The OG bar and restaurant in downtown Salem.
An initiative in the pipeline is a stock bathroom vanity program, which will allow the company to manufacture stock vanities at lower price points. This is aimed at homeowners, contractors and builders seeking high-quality, budget-friendly cabinetry.
