FARRELL, Pa. – The Farrell Area School District has been awarded a $140,000 PAsmart grant to expand students’ access to career and technical education opportunities.
The funding, awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, will support high-quality career pathways in fields such as advanced manufacturing, construction, digital technology and energy.
The grant is part of a statewide initiative designed to help students acquire the skills, credentials and practical experience needed to pursue careers in growing industries.
“As a former industrial arts and technology education teacher, I know this grant will provide students with in-demand skills for a great career,” state Rep. Parke Wentling, R-7th, said in announcing the grant. “It is a win for our kids and local employers.”
The Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded approximately $3.5 million through this round of PAsmart grants.
