YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Youngstown this week announced the appointment of Jennifer Fischer as the associate superintendent of schools.
Fischer, formerly the director of curriculum and instruction, brings several years of experience in the diocese to her new role. A former public school teacher in both South Carolina and Ohio, she also directed online learning programs in the Perry Local School District and in Massillon City Schools.
In 2013 she took over as principal of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Massillon where she served for nine years before moving to the diocesan office. Along with her continued oversight of all state and federal programs that operate in the diocesan schools, she will also take over student life as well as personnel and compliance issues.
“Mrs. Fischer is the ideal person to take over as associate superintendent,” says Steven Jones, superintendent of schools for the Diocese. She’s a dedicated, experienced school leader and a tireless advocate for our students.”
