YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Today in Flashback, Brooke Testa, curatorial assistant for the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, presents a look at several Christmas folklore figures featured in this year’s reception room display of the “Memories of Christmas Past” exhibit inside Arms Family Museum.

Among them is La Befana, a character from Italian tradition. Depicted as an old woman resembling a witch, La Befana is said to deliver sweets and toys to children on Epiphany Eve

“Memories of Christmas Past” is open through Dec. 31. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Special Twilight Thursday hours are from noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 4, 11 and 18. Twilight Tuesday hours are noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 23.
