Flying High broke ground last year on an expansion at its Professional Development Center on Kensington Avenue in Youngstown.

The nonprofit agency’s plans for 2026 include launching a culinary vocational training course that will be based in the Access Healthy Foods building at the Campus of Care in Mineral Ridge.

It will also add a Wellness Now program to help clients build healthy eating habits and learn practical kitchen skills.

Shining Gems Development Corp., a division of Flying High, will serve as the general contractor for a new housing development in the Mahoning Valley. It will partner with municipalities and land banks to obtain land for construction of affordable housing for unemployed people seeking careers in the trades.

Flying High marked its 30th anniversary last year. The Youngstown-based agency provides workforce development programs based on education, training and employment services.
